A New Social Media Platform for Up-and-Coming Talent

Introducing the first social media platform & Interactive experience created for talented performers, and the only platform where fans are encouraged to join and engage.

Talent Joe was designed for performing artists to grow their fanbase, increase their fame, gain exposure, and get discovered by industry professionals to help accelerate their career.

Talent Joe was created for the average Joe to become extraordinary. This vision guided every aspect of the development of Talent Joe, including the application's design and branding.

Once the branding was created, several low fidelity wireframes was designed to determine best UX principles and to map out the structure and functionality of the platform.

Onboarding

One of the major issues identified with the previous platform was a clear lack of onboarding. Onboarding for applications is crucial. It is the first experience a person will have the brand and is the difference between understanding the application, versus feeling frustration and abandoning the application. To address this issue, I created 39 onboarding scenarios that separated the different users into their prospective user types including fans, talent, and industry professionals. Additionally, these scenarios even took into account children creating accounts under the age of 14.

The Profile

For talents, their profile is a crucial tool for growing their fan base and getting discovered. To improve the talent profile experience, I created interactive card elements and a full profile page. The interactive profile cards allow fans and industry professionals to hover them flip them and view other relevant videos posted by the artist without having to click through to their profile page. This feature saves time and effort and gives a better perspective of the talent in question.

Final Thoughts

I'm proud to have been part of the massive undertaking that was Talent Joe, which required a great deal of collaboration to achieve the final results. Throughout the design process, we had user experience at the forefront of our minds and worked to cultivate the best principles that would make the platform monetizable for our shareholders as well as extremely well received from its audience.

I thoroughly enjoyed tackling the challenges that this project presented and appreciated the opportunity to work through the process of solving those challenges. As we look ahead to the anticipated launch of Talent Joe in 2023, I feel excited and fulfilled to have contributed to its creation.
